Kick Ass (2009)
A visually stunning film, Kick-Ass ticks all the boxes for a perfect comic-book remake. Having read the comic myself, I can now relate the film to the book. The start of the film stays very true to the book however throughout the film the differences become more and more apparent as the film starts to turn it's so called back on the original.
However despite this, the film still manages to captivate the audience much like the comic itself.
Personally, having previously seen Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging starring Aaron Johnson I was very impressed with his performance as the ordinary teenager trying to help the world by dressing as super-hero Kick-Ass
But the person who stole the whole film has to be Chloe Grace Moretz. Her performance as 10 year old loud-mouth super-hero Hit-Girl was perfect for the script and was very true to the comic book. Her father played by Nicholas Cage (Big Daddy) some how let the scenes with her down a bit as his lack of versatility showed.
To finalise, the film Kick-Ass about a young teenage boy who becomes a world-famous superhero is the perfect film for a night-in. Do not underestimate the originality of this film and watch in Blu-ray and you will understand what I mean about "Visually Stunning"
I give Kick Ass 8/10
